I currently have two manuscripts for which I am seeking placement:
The Simple Life is a humorous, journey-of-discovery chicklit with a reverse Beverly Hillbillies theme. What happens when a city girl hits the farm? Bloopers, that’s what. The manuscript is 82,500 words and complete.
(This manuscript has been requested in full from The Wild Rose Press on 1/30/08.)
Moroccan Knights is a more dramatic, adventurous romance that takes place when East meets West in the Kasbahs of Morocco. The manuscript is 55,000 words and complete.
I gave a short presentation in conjunction with my literary agent, Sammie Justesen (http://www.northernlightsls.com/) at the Idaho Writer’s League’s annual conference on Friday, September 28, 2007.
My article "Paying Dues" is posted on Long and Short Reviews (http://longandshortarchives.blogspot.com/2007/10/article-paying-dues.html/).
My article "I Don't Like Writing" is posted on The Romance Studio (http://www.theromancestudio.com/articles/idontlikewritinglewis.htm/).
I’ve become a huge Paul Potts fan. To find out who he is and why I find him incredible, view these two YouTube links: (http://youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA/) and (http://youtube.com/watch?v=rDB9zwlXrB8/)
I participated in a panel discussion at the Idaho Writer's League meeting (http://www.idahowritersleague.com//) on Wednesday, November 14 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
I received an awesome review for Saving Grace at Coffee Time Romance. Come check it out at http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookReviews/SavinggraceByPatriceMoore.html/. Here are some excerpts: "This is one truly amazing piece of work. The fear and desperation that Grace endures comes through with aching clarity...This story is riveting, intense, and worth every minute of your time. Please read!"
Weather permitting, I will be attending "A Little Romance with Auntie's" wine-and-chocolate event with fellow writers from our RWA chapter at Auntie's Bookstore in Spokane on 2/16/08. Come join us for some Valentine's goodies!
Speaking of weather, we are experiencing one of the harshest winters in the region in well over a decade. Since we live two miles off-road, we keep getting snowed in for a week at a time. It is helpful at times like this that we homeschool and have a farm. While the kids can get squirrelly, at least they can keep up with schoolwork. And we get fresh eggs and milk daily as well. We're well-stocked up and can hunker down for a couple of months if necessary. We've been doing livestock chores on snowshoes because the average depth of the snow is around four feet right now (early February). What a winter!
